Media partner selection

Choosing a media network for your centres.

We run the selection for the owner: a brief, offers from the networks that suit the sites, a term by term comparison, and the negotiation with the one you choose. We also supply and install the screens alongside whichever network wins.

A bidder in the tender

Nextage runs media partner selection for Australian shopping centre owners, by competitive tender where the portfolio suits one. Nextage writes the brief, invites the networks, compares their offers clause by clause and negotiates for the owner. Nextage does not sell advertising, so it never bids. The people who run this work have 40 years in the industry.

The market

Who sells centre screen advertising

The networks

oOh!media, Shopper, Val Morgan Outdoor (VMO) and QMS sell centre screen advertising in Australia. Shopper has been part of Woolworths, through Cartology, since 2022. Naming them is not a partnership with any of them.

In house

Some of the largest centre owners sell the advertising on their own screens themselves.

Tenders happen

Owners do put media rights to competitive tender; centre tenders were reported in 2026.

Your side

Whichever network holds, or wants, your screens, we sit on your side of the table.

How it runs

From site walk to signed agreement

The same order every time, so nothing is negotiated on a screen that does not work.

  1. Walk the sites

What is installed, what is possible, and where the traffic is.

  2. Write the brief

Sites, zones, formats, approvals, and what you want from the deal: fee, share, term.

  3. Invite offers

From the networks that sell in centres like yours.

  4. Compare

Every offer, term by term, in one table you can read.

  5. Negotiate

With the network you choose. Nothing is signed without your sign off.

  6. Install

Network funded screens go in to the network's specification. Owner funded screens we supply, install and commission.

  7. Review

Reports checked against the agreement, and the rollover date in the diary well ahead.

The comparison

What we compare in each offer

ItemWhat we ask each network
PaymentFee, share or both, and how each moves over the term
FundingWho buys the screens, and who owns them
CoverageWhich sites, zones and formats are included, and whether exclusivity reaches car parks and outdoor signs
TermLength, rollover, notice and exit
ReportingRevenue and proof of play reports, how often, and whether you can check them
AudienceHow the network measures and reports the audience at your sites
DowntimeWhat happens to payments while a screen is dark, and who fixes it by when
End of termRemoval of the hardware, and the make good

Hardware alongside any network

We supply the screens, whoever sells them

Where you own the screens, we supply, install and commission them to the specification the winning network needs, then keep them running.

  • Remote monitoring of brightness, temperature and power, with faults emailed automatically
  • Spares held for boards and panels
  • A 3 year warranty on quoted hardware
  • 12 to 14 weeks from order for new hardware

When a tender suits

Three situations where it pays to compare

  • Several sites you want on one agreement, or a portfolio being put together.
  • An agreement coming up for renewal, so the current network has to compete to keep it.
  • New screens going in, while the funding model is still open.

FAQ

About choosing a media partner

Do you bid in the tender?

No. Nextage does not sell advertising, so it never competes with the networks it invites.

Can you step in when an agreement is already in place?

Yes. We read the current agreement, fix any dark screens first, and plan the selection around the rollover date. New hardware takes 12 to 14 weeks, so we start well ahead.

Who makes the decision?

You do. We compare and recommend; the owner chooses and signs.

Do you also supply the screens?

Yes, where you own them. Where the network funds them, it installs its own hardware and we check the installation against the agreement.

Media rights coming up?

Tell us the sites and the renewal date. We will start from there.
